Residential EV Inclusive Charging Infrastructure Survey
Hi All, I've just released a survey that is targeting the residential charging infrastructure: bit.ly/UrbanEVPittsburgh Please feel free to share! Care for more info? Well, read on! I've been working on a project for a more inclusive plan for EV ownership that is based on reducing the ubiquitous "10 min walk to a charging station" target. Meaning most cities that are beginning EV adoption will look to install EV chargers within a 10 min walk of EV owners. There are currently plans in place for more city chargers to head to parking authority lots. However, 80% of owners charge at home, not to mention they are way behind schedule. So what do you do if you don't have a driveway, garage or rent? Don't worry, Home Depot will have you covered in no time... Enter the extension cord over the sidewalk. You know what I'm talking about. Don't worry, I thought about it myself. That's the curbside EV charging challenge that we're working on. I'm planning on funneling updates through internodal.io and twitter @internodal-io but in the meantime feel free to take our anonymous survey. <http://bit.ly/UrbanEVPittsburgh> Realistically, I think there is a way to make residential curbside EV charging a reality within a 2min walk, and with rates that would be similar to home charging. So why the survey <http://bit.ly/UrbanEVPittsburgh>? It was noted from Deb Gross's office that a survey may be necessary for any new developments. So I began developing and testing our own survey, and here we are. If we wait for the City, we will be tripping over cords everywhere before the year is out.
