Education Innovations, Inc. is seeking a volunteer with web design and computer programming experience to teach MonkeeMag.com students for 4 Saturdays starting at the end of February. The volunteer will 1.) help MonkeeMag.com youth how lay out their website, 2.) teach how them how to deal with images, 3.) teach them how to create simple games, and 4.) teach basic HTML. MonkeeMag.com is an entrepreneurial venture that was started by students in 4th through 8th grade during our Young Entrepreneur's Club in summer 2004. MonkeeMag endeavors to be a safe haven for youth seeking entertainment and information--all created by local youth. Current departments include video games, movies, advice, health and beauty, crafts, shopping, (extreme) sports, and news. MonkeeMag.com will go live in June. We are expanding MonkeeMag in March and welcome youth from the neighborhood to apply. We will have 10 openings and the cost is minimal-$20 per week. MonkeeMag.com meets for three hours every Saturday from 5:00 until 8:00pm. Each MonkeeMag gathering includes a family-style dinner, an entrepreneurial lesson (branding, marketing, finance, management, etc.), and activities that contribute towards content for MonkeeMag.com (watching movies and reviewing them, playing video games, shopping, and learning health and beauty tips.)
