At St. Andrew's, Highland Park: The February "First Thursday of the Month" service of Choral Evensong will observe the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord in the Temple, or the Purification of St. Mary the Virgin, at 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 5th. The Choir will sing Responses by William Smith of Durham (1603-1645) and the Service in A Major by C.V. Stanford (1852-1924). The Anthem will be, "When to the Temple Mary went," by Johannes Eccard (1553-1611) The service is followed by a recital: Bryan Adkins, Horn, and Corinne Fink-Adkins, Piano, playing the Sonata for Horn in E flat and Piano, Op. 28, by Franz Danzi (1763-1826). And all are invited to a festive reception, in the Parish Hall.
