I received a few suggestions, so I emailed the city parks division who referred me to the Dept. of Public Works - Parks Maintenance Div who told me the bathrooms are cleaned every morning, and then referred me to the mayor's 311 request line. I called them and described the condition of the rest room and requested extra toilet paper rolls, soap, towels, hot water, a sanitizer dispenser, and particularly a dispenser for toilet seat covers. I suggested that if the ladies could cover the seat easily, then perhaps they wouldn't be afraid to sit on the seat, and they wouldn't dirty the seat. I also suggested that they replace the seat with a new one since the condition of the old one contributes to the impression that the bathroom isn't very clean. I also expressed surprise that the bathrooms were cleaned every day, because they didn't look like it, and suggested that they should do it more often. I also said I would put it out there to the Highland Park community that if the city couldn't afford to install some of these things, that I would see if the community might want to raise a little money to help out. I, for one, would be willing to contribute a few dollars to see some improvement. They gave me a request # and said to check back by Monday or Tuesday. Any thoughts, neighbors?
