[Highland Park] Meet the Farmers & Join Who Cooks For You's CSA This Week!
Hi neighbors! I have been a CSA member with Who Cooks for You for the past 3 years and it has been a great experience--the food is fresh and delivery is so convenient. I am also a volunteer farm hand at the farm and can answer most questions you might have. Or, you can come to my house this weekend and talk to the farmers in person. * * *Want Local, Organic, Fresh Vegetables June through November? Become a CSA Member!* *Sign up for a CSA here: http://whocooksforyoufarm.com/csa-info* Who Cooks for You Farm is offering vegetable shares delivered to a central location in your neighborhood again for the 2013 season. As a member of their traditional CSA, you will receive a box of fresh vegetables every week from the first week of June to the second week of November. For 23 weeks, you will receive diverse assortment of seasonal vegetables in varying quantities. Or if you would like more flexibility, join the Market CSA: As a market CSA member, you will come to the farmers' market in East Liberty on Monday afternoons and choose the produce you'd like for the week at a 10% discount. There is no cash exchange at market, because you prepay for the market share before the markets begin. From the first Monday after Mother's Day to the Monday before Thanksgiving, you can choose what you want from the Who Cooks for You Farm stand. The CSA is conveniently delivered to the Bryant Street Market again this year! You can pick up your veggies and easily buy other groceries you need! *Meet The Farmers, Saturday March 9th, 2pm-4pm!* Curious about a CSA, not sure if it is right for you, or want to know more about the farm where your food is grown? Meet Chris and Aeros on Saturday and hear more about where they farm and their organic growing practices, and meet other CSA members. Saturday March 9th, 2-4pm 5484 Hays Street, on the Corner of Hays & Chislett Please RSVP if you plan to come so we have an idea of what to expect! CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture and allows consumers to directly support farmers throughout the growing season by buying shares of produce in the spring as the farm prepares for the growing season. Joining a CSA lets you form a connection the source of your food and the people who work to grow it. CSA drop offs will be in Lawrenceville, East Liberty, Highland Park in the East End, as well as the North Side and Squirrel Hill. For more information and to register for a share, go to http://www.whocooksforyoufarm.com/csa-info "Time is how the trees grow. I will fall asleep for a thousand years and a mighty spruce will have raised me high, high into the sky."
