Hi all, My grandmother was just in the Highland Park Care Center here on Highland Avenue for a couple of weeks. I just wanted to say how great they were in taking care of her. It is one of the most highly rated facilities in the area per the Medicare website and it really shows in the attitude of the staff. They were very caring, responsive to our needs and provided very personalized attention. Our family came to realize how important continuity of care is when a person requires multiple hospitalizations, rehab, and long-term care. HPCC has a number of doctors who make rounds there who also practice at UPMC Shadyside, West Penn and LifeCare. It also makes a huge difference for the caregiver to have facilities close at hand when you want to make frequent visits. If you ever have a need for skilled nursing care, I highly recommend this facility.
