cheap vegetable, herb and flower seeds!
Hello again, all. I've heard from a few folks interested in seeds, so I'd like to make it a little easier... in the Seed Savers Exchange catalog, every packet is $2.99. Most packets are 25 - 100 seeds per, although some smaller seeds can have 500 or more (lettuces, kohlrabi, carrots, etc.) I know most folks don't have enough space to have a full-blown garden and could never use that many seeds. That's why I'd be happy to break up a packet into multiple groups, with just an extra 15 cents to cover the coin envelope, label and time. So, for packets containing 25 seeds, such as some of the beans, peppers and tomatoes, 5 seeds would be 75 cents, and 10 would be $1.35. If a packet has 50 seed, then you get 10 for 75 cents; 100 and it's 10 for 45 cents. For those items with very small seeds (lettuce, etc.), I would do my best to split them evenly, and it might be as little as 50 seeds for 45 cents! So, please take a look at the catalog if you think you might be interested in growing anything for yourself this year. it's at http://www.seedsavers.org They have over 70 varieties of heirloom tomatoes, and all kinds of other stuff ranging from basil to spinach to radishes to Echinacea to ground cherries to zinnias - and all kinds of stuff in between! And remember -- if you're intimidated by gardening, I'm happy to help you out with directions or advice throughout the season. Happy gardening! Rachel
