Happy Thanksgiving neighbors! FYI - a guy knocked on our door after dark at 8:00 pm tonight (friday 11/25) saying he was selling verizon/fios. offered no ID, but wearing red short sleeved polo shirt which may or may not have had "verizon" on it. white man, mid 30's, balding, dark hair & mustache, medium build/height. when we said "no, not interested" he disappeared....couldn't see where he went from the front door or from our 2nd floor front windows. i called verizon and they claimed no way to know if salesmen were in our neighborhood, stated they use sales subcontractors, and asked "i mean, why do you need to know this?" the best they could do was give me a phone number for a local store...they couldn't even locate a local office, and really didn't care to try. useless. we called 911 and allegheny county was equally disinterested. Pgh police came, were very reasonable, and are checking around. this occurred in the area of avondale, highview, heths - border of highland park and morningside.
