Dear Neighbors - We have already filled most of the annually requested Angel Tags by some of your neighbors, but more have been made available through NRP, so we are making this general request out to our neighborhood. We can do a pick up, and get them delivered in the next week, so they will be into those in needs hands by Christmas. Once again we are offering a chance to help those in need by giving Toys and/or $25.00 Gift Cards for Children (as there are specific requests this year for the Children, but additional Gifts/Toys are always welcomed as well), or $25.00 Target Gift Cards for Seniors, called Angel Tags. We would coordinate between what you might wish to give, and the Angel Tags available from NRP. Last year we started to even go out ourselves, and purchased the requested Gift Cards for those who just wanted to give money, trying to make it easier for those wishing to help out. Every year, the Neighborhood Resilience Project in the Hill (formerly known as FOCUS Pittsburgh) - asks the local Orthodox Churches for help with Christmas gifts for the area children and seniors. Each Church has a Christmas tree decorated with angel tags featuring the names of the children and their gift ideas. Even with a few hundred tags that are distributed to these churches, there are always more people that need help, and that's where our group comes in to gather additional gifts. We would pull a name(s) out for you, and would take care of making sure that your $25.00 Gift Card would be put into an actual person's hands for the Holidays. Children's Angel Tag requests would be e-mailed to you in time to make a purchase, and then we in turn will pick these up from you, and deliver to NRP in time for the Holiday delivery. If you would be willing to donate a $25 Gift Card for a Kid, or a $25 Target gift card for senior citizens, in need, your help will be greatly appreciated.
