We highly recommend Vinski's Appliances in Etna started in 1947. 301 Butler St. 412-782-2202. The Post Gazette featured them in an article in Sept. 2015, which is when we discovered them. There are so few "mom and pop" places still, that we wanted to get the word out, though I don't think they need it. They sell dependable appliances that are fairly low tech: with few bells and whistles and electronics. We replaced our 35 yr. old washer 5 yrs ago; it has 3 water temperatures and a gentle cycle for delicates and sweaters. It is very good. The other day our 40 year old dryer finally failed and we bought a new Amana (by Whirlpool) from them, approx $800. It too has everything we need in terms of speed and temperature.
