Mark Your Calendars for the Fifth Annual Pittsburgh Garden Swap! The Fifth Annual Pittsburgh Garden Swap, a non-profit event for gardening enthusiasts of all ages, is taking place on Saturday, May 14th at the Frick Environmental Center in Squirrel Hill. Spring is the time of year to thin out gardens, separate perennials and plan your 2005 gardening projects. The beauty of this annual event is the ability for local gardeners to share and trade treasures from their own gardens. Event Details: Pittsburgh Garden Swap Saturday, May 14 12:00pm - 4:00pm Frick Environmental Center 2005 Beechwood Boulevard Frick Park/Squirrel Hill Admission: $2 per person Join local garden enthusiasts and trade perennials, annuals, seeds, bulbs, garden tools and decorations. Plants should be clearly labeled and well-potted (please do not bring un-potted or bare-root plants). Bring your favorite gardening buddy and receive a free native perennial from the Frick Environmental Center. Other activities include a hands-on nature-inspired art project led by artists from the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and instructional sessions on how to identify, manage and eliminate invasive plant species taught by local naturalists. Vendors will also be on hand to display and sell their garden-inspired creations.
