Girl Scout Pick Up for Christmas Tree Recycling 2022
Hello! I´m writing with my annual offer for Christmas tree pickup for recycling with the city´s Christmas tree recyclling effort. We hope you all had a good Christmas and are looking forward to a healthy and fun New Year! We love that our neighbors look forward to this effort so much! We already had a handful of customers proactively reach out for details about the Christmas Tree pick up prior to us sending out any notice at all! *We will be picking up the trees to bring to the city lots for recycling on Sunday, January 16. Please sign up here if you are interested and if you are located in Highland Park, East Liberty or Morningside: * *https://forms.gle/Wc75DNuBEunoSTqs8 <https://forms.gle/Wc75DNuBEunoSTqs8>* We will continue last year's contact-free pick up policies: donations via PayPal (gstroop52498@gmail.com) or cash attached to tree, trees set out curb side or at an easy to access location *off* of the porch. Full details can be found at the form listed above. If you know folks who live in Shadyside, Point Breeze or Larimer who would like their tree picked up, you can share this link for them to sign up: https://forms.gle/ohEZM3jEKJUEstnUA If you want to manage your own tree, check here for the closest location to drop off your trees this year: https://pittsburghpa.gov/dpw/xmas-tree-recycling. I would also like to note that maintaining a yard debris pile in your yard is good for the local birds and wildlife. I´ve seen recommendations to add your tree to a bird feeding post, to allow the birds some cover over the winter months. Then, in the summer, you could saw up your tree and add it to those ubiquitous firepits that everyone seems to have added to their yard during COVID. ;-) Happy New Year to you all!
