Re: [Highland Park] No Mail Delivery
This mail problem appears to affecting lots of people. It looks like packages are getting delivered but not letters, cards, bills, etc. We did receive mail today, but on the days that we do get mail (like today), it is just the normal amount, not the backlog one would expect after missing for multiple days. Case in point: usually by this point in the year we have received 30+ holiday cards, but this year we have only 8. I did speak to someone at the East Liberty PO (412-661-7981) who was very nice but had no information. He said to call back around 5pm today when the carriers return. I'll write again if I learn anything. Below is a compilation of replies I have received. ______________ We live on Winterton and did not get mail on Wednesday and Friday last week but did get a package through the mail. My parents live on Hampton across from Fulton and did not get mail on Monday of last week. When we do get mail it has only been a few things. This time of year we usually get a lot more mail. We also seem not be getting things that should be delivered. For instance, we are waiting on a package that should have been delivered over two weeks ago and one that should have been delivered last week as well as a new bank card. Very frustrating but there is nobody you can talk to at the post office! If you are able to talk to someone I would appreciate an update. Likewise if I speak with someone I will let you know. It is a relief to know it is not just us. ______________ Mail delivery missed at least 2 days. No mail yet today ______________ similar thing happened to us. we are also on n. highland. here is the phone number to call 412.661.7981 best time to reach a supervisor is around 6-6:30 AM ______________ Go to the Post office in East Liberty and see the manager and complain. ______________ I guess we should feel lucky, we did not receive ANY mail yesterday but so far other days there has been at least some -- last week there were a couple of days when we received a few first class letter and no junk (oh what a relief that was!) -- We've not tried to contact USPS and have no advice regarding that other than to perhaps try a regional office rather than the 15206 post office to see if that could get you anywhere. I must say that usually by this time we would have received Christmas cards from various friends and relatives and have not heard from several of them yet so perhaps there is more that have not been delivered that we are not aware of. ______________ Have you tried to contact Customer Service using 1-800-ASK-USPS® (1-800-275-8777)? Or email them using the email contact on their site? Here is the link:http://faq.usps.com/adaptivedesktop/faq.jsp?ef=USPSFAQ&dest=EmailUs . We have been getting our mail. ______________ I am heading to the post office tomorrow to see if they have my mail...It is the one on broad street that delivers our mail...when I first moved, that is what I was told...hope this helps...Let me know if you have any luck. ______________ Our delivery has been very inconsistent lately. It's always been slow--magazines delivered a week, sometimes two weeks late. Lately, they've been skipping delivery for two days in a row. I've tried to call the East Liberty Post Office and all I get are busy signals. Someone else mentioned a complaint from the HPCC. Household complaints and a complaint by HPCC probably make the most sense. ______________ We aren't receiving mail either. No Friday or Saturday delivery. If I had the time, I'd stand in line at the PO, but, alas, I'm swamped. My guess is they are overwhelmed with package delivers and the post is getting put on the back burner. Haven't seen any mail-persons walking around either. Additionally, my FedEx packages are super delayed due to being overwhelmed at sorting center as well. (All shipped on 12/17, but are showing they sat at a sorting location for days. Now my packages won't be here until after Christmas, which is nutty.) Certainly hope we receive mail today. ______________ I also didn't get mail on Saturday and just called the E Liberty post office. Spoke to someone who said she is checking on it. She said I was the second caller to report this happening on Hampton St. I also called on weds of last week at 5:10pm. Again, I got someone who said mail was still being delivered. My front lights were on and we got mail btwn 7:30 and 8pm! ______________ I also noticed that the mailbox at the corner of Callowhill and Mellon St. has been removed. I haven't gotten mail several days recently. Think the usps is cutting corners. ______________ I live on Sheridan and I didn't receive mail on Thursday or Saturday of last week. I submitted my complaint here: http://faq.usps.com/adaptivedesktop/faq.jsp?ef=USPSFAQ&dest=EmailUs This seems to be a problem for the whole neighborhood this year. Our regular letter carrier has been off, and we've had a substitute. I'm sure that's part of the problem, but that doesn't make it acceptable. ______________ Same here. Farragut Street. ______________ Neither did we! we live on Hampton street. I noticed that the usual postman was teaching another younger man a couple of weeks ago. I thought tempering with the mail was a federal offence? Thanks for posting this and please let us know if you find anything out regarding this problem. ______________ From the deluge of emails I have received (over 50 so far), we have a huge delivery problem in HP. For months, people all over HP have not received mail on Mondays, Thursdays, and other random combinations of days. The holidays did not bring this on. Calling the East Liberty facility has not yielded results for them. I think the HP neighborhood organization should file a collective complaint. Someone suggested contacting Mike Doyle's office. ______________ Yes...you need to contact the Post Master General at the main post office. Not sure if it is done by phone or email. We had major problems that were ongoing with getting mail for other people not even in our zipcode area. We felt that our mail could be going to other places as well. I hate to say this but the mgr at the East Liberty post office has an I don't care attitude and I doubt you'll get any results by talking with him. Definitely contact the PostMaster General. You will get a response. We have a mail slot in our door. Left a note on our door to put mail in there. Mail person was putting mail at rear door with no protection from the weather. It is pathetic we all have to deal with the problems at our branch. I went there at lunch time two weeks ago to get stamps.....they no longer sell in the lobby. They only had one clerk at the counters and the line was incredible. Not that is just not acceptable. ______________ I waited on hold for 55 minutes with the USPS and then got cut off. We got no mail Thurs or Sat and Friday was slim and put in an unusual place. I wanted to stop at the East Liberty post office but forgot this morning. That might be our best bet. ______________ We haven't either! Tuesday, Thursday,Friday and Saturday. The post office doesn't pick up the phone and you can't even find a mail truck anywhere in the neighborhood to ask! ______________ Yes, I too have been waiting and not receiving mail that I was told was sent to me. I believe it is the post office for our area. When I first moved here last year, I had some issues, and sure enough my mail was sitting at the post office!!! ______________

We're also not getting mail. We've never had this happen before. I can't get through to a real person at the post office either. Is this throughout Highland Park? Did anyone NOT miss at least one day of mail?
Here's the weird thing. We ARE getting USPS packages, just no letters, cards, bills, junk mail, etc. The larger stuff is getting delivered, just not the envelopes. We didn't get any on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday of last week. Any advice as to what I should do?
