[Highland Park] St. Marathon Weekend @ St. Andrew's --
MARATHON SUNDAY ALERT: May 2nd will be "St. Marathon Sunday" in the City of Pittsburgh, and St. Andrew's is located just inside the race route, which flows north on North Highland Avenue from East Liberty, then across Bryant Street and south on North Negley Avenue, towards East Liberty. Services on Sunday morning will continue on the usual schedule, 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Those arriving from beyond the immediate neighborhood should be careful to park *outside* the race route, above Bryant Street, or beyond N. Highland or N. Negley Avenues. Cars parked within the race route will be stranded until 1:30 or 2 p.m. ST. MARATHON EVE SPECIAL SERVICE: For the convenience of those running in or volunteering with the Pittsburgh Marathon, a special service of Holy Communion will be held at St. Andrew's, in the Chapel, on Saturday afternoon, May 1, at 5 p.m. A number of St. Andreans are running this year--I know of Amanda Schaffer, Wes Rohrer, Liz Buchanan, Valerie Sweeney, and perhaps there are others. Will keep all in our prayers for a safe and fun run! A special benefit for those coming to St. Andrew's on Marathon Weekend: the annual Summer Book Sale begins this week. Early Birds get first crack at purchase of a number of wonderful contributions already received! All best, BruceR http://www.standrewspgh.org http://revbmrobison.blogspot.com/
