The Clean Pittsburgh Commission is sponsoring a Spring Earth Day Weekend Redd Up April 19-21. Earth Day is Monday, April 22. They have asked the schools to do cleanups on Friday, and communities to have events on Saturday or Sunday. Highland Park will be participating on Saturday 4/20. We will be meeting on the 5800 block of Bryant Street, next to Park Bruges, at 9 am. We will fan out from Bryant Street to pick up litter in the areas between Bunkerhill and Stanton, and Highland and Negley. Gloves and bags will be provided, although you are welcome to wear your favorite comfortable trash gloves. I only have size large gloves, although they seem a little smaller and have some stretch to them. If you are interested in helping to pick up litter in the neighborhood, please let me know at bob.63@netzero.net, or just show up around 9 am on Bryant Street.
