- www.unionproject.org - UnWrapped hosts first Union Hour Union Project’s Grand Opening Celebration continues on Friday, December 2 from 5-7 pm with a Networking Union Hour sponsored by Urban League Young Professionals and PUMP and music by Tangueros De Ley. The event is free and open to the public. This event is part of Penn Avenue Arts Initiative’s First Friday’s on Penn. Be sure to check out other arts activities on Penn Avenue after stopping by the Union Project on Friday evening. Christmas Tree Sale has started The Union Project Christmas tree sale has begun. Trees will be available until 9 pm at the Union Project from now until Christmas. Trees and wreaths will be on sale for $25 and up from 2 pm until 9 pm every day of the week. The tree sale will be located on the Union Project front steps and the proceeds benefit the Union Project. Be sure to check out the artwork in the atrium when you come for your Christmas tree. Handmade artwork from UnWrapped will be available for purchase until Christmas. Call for wreath decorations Union Project could use your Christmas decorations. Ribbon, Christmas balls, and other decoration materials will be used to decorate wreaths and the Union Project. If you have items to donate please drop them off at the Union Project between 9 am and 9 pm Monday thru Friday. Volunteers Needed Union Project will need volunteers for the following workdays. Volunteers will assist with Christmas tree events, cleaning, painting, stained glass restoration, or other tasks depending on weather or construction progress. Call for volunteers The Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC), in partnership with the Union Project, Construction Junction, and the City of Pittsburgh, needs the help of volunteers at its Christmas tree collection on SATURDAY, JANUARY 14, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event takes place at Construction Junction, 214 N. Lexington Street in the Point Breeze section of Pittsburgh. Volunteers are needed to help unload trees from vehicles and to direct traffic in the parking lot. Everyone helping out can stay warm with free cups of hot cocoa and refreshments! Please consider sharing time on January 14th to help keep unnecessary waste out of the landfills.
