[Highland Park] Stained Glass at Union Project THIS WEEKEND
*Union Project is celebrating our stained glass this weekend. Come join us for one or both of these fun events! * *Light UP THIS FRIDAY* (Check out the article <http://blogs.sites.post-gazette.com/index.php/news/city-walkabout>written by Diana Nelson Jones of the Post-Gazette) On Friday, June11th from 6:30pm - 9:30pm Union Project will be celebrating the completion and installation of our choir loft windows with tours, food, lawn games, music, and the first nighttime lighting of the beautiful windows. After a near three year hiatus, Union Project’s stained glass restoration classes and workshops are back, now in partnership with Prism Stained Glass and the Pittsburgh Glass Center. From an unheated, partially roofless atrium seven years ago, to a warm and friendly downstairs studio, Union Project’s Glass Action Program has taught more than 200 community members the art of stained glass restoration. The restoration of the choir loft windows is part of the final phase of a project, which also includes restoring the entire wall of windows in the Great Hall (former sanctuary) on the northern section of the building. Thanks to a generous grant from the Laurel Foundation and a matching grant from Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission the project’s anticipated completion date is February 2011. But, now we need *your *help.
