[Highland Park] stolen goods being bought at sunoco on negley near penn
My partner went into the Sunoco gas station on Negley near Penn yesterday and watched as two young men entered with a new(er) looking Dell Laptop with power cord and say to the cashier: "is the owner here? we have this laptop and we always bring our stuff to him first". Needless to say the laptop was not in a box and most likely stolen. They could have cared less that someone was watching this interaction AND that it was being captured on the store's own video surveillance system. When my partner called the police to report it the officer said "yeah, that place is shady". DUH! Can't something be done about this? Maybe I've watched too much tv but don't they call it a "sting" operation. The flagrancy is absolutely absurd. On Thu, Apr 1, 2010 at 9:47 PM, David Lagnese <david.lagnese@verizon.net>wrote:
East Liberty Farmers’ Market Update
Here is an update for Saturday April 3rd!
- The holiday is upon us, so the market will be stocked with lots of goodies.
- Last week, Sam Byler from Riverview Dairy started selling some new Pennsylvania cheeses- starting with cow’s milk cheese from Pasture Maid Creamery- which comes from a farm outside of New Castle. -
· Sam was recently licensed to bottle milk (apparently no small feat in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania). Last week he brought a few gallons of fresh goat milk to the market. The milk sold out in about 30 minutes flat. This week Sam will be bringing more goat milk to market- packaged in half gallons and quarts. Rumor has it that Sam will also be bringing fresh goat milk yogurt as well.
- Rick from Zang’s Greenhouse will have a variety of Easter flowers, among other things.
- Although it is too late to place orders for this Saturday- the J.L. Kennedy Farm should be fully stocked with a variety of locally grown meats.
- And who can forget about eggs at Easter. Ina from Greenawalt Farm will have that covered.
- Local apples and cider are still available from Kistaco Farm - - Fresh brewed Kew Park Coffee from Jamaica will be available from the coffee bar. We also have whole beans that would be a great addition to an Easter celebration. Whole beans can be ground to order.
On a final note- I want to let everyone know that we are building a web site for the market. It is a very exciting development for the market. It will help us to better communicate with our existing customers and spread the word to others who don’t know about the market.
