The first "First Thursday" service of Choral Evensong at St. Andrew's in Highland Park will be held this Thursday evening, October 3, at 8 p.m., to observe the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. The Parish Choir of St. Andrew's Church, under the direction of Peter Luley, will sing the Evening Service in G by H. Walford Davies, and, as the Office Anthem, the Benedicite, by Herbert Sumsion, and Sentences by William Smith of Durham. A musical program will follow the service, featuring the Bloomfield Liedertafel Singing Society. And an Octoberfest style gathering will take place in the churchyard following the program.
