Free Author Reading/Discussion at Pittsburgh Seminary Nov. 4
Neighbors, We invite you to join Helen Blier, director of Continuing Education, on Sat., Nov. 4, 7 p.m. at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary for a conversation and reading with first-time author Daren Wang. His book, The Hidden Light of Northern Fires, has been getting great buzz from authors like Charles Frazier (Cold Mountain) and Natasha Tretheway (former US Poet Laureate). The novel is historical fiction; Daren grew up in Town Line, NY, a suburb of Buffalo that has the dubious distinction of having seceded from the Union during the Civil War. His house had been a station on the Underground Railroad and the novel speculates on what might have been. The session is free and a great chance to support new writing! Copies of the book will be for sale at the reading-it's a real page-turner! We hope to see you there. https://www.pts.edu/book-discussion-wang-2017 Robin Menard rmenard@pts.edu<mailto:rmenard@pts.edu>
