[Highland Park] Lost Dog Clementine Update
I'm writing to update about our search for Clementine. If you didn't catch the original post, I'm including it at the bottom of this one for reference. The search is still on. We're feeling hopeful because there have been numerous sightings in the neighborhood both last night and throughout the day today. We've even spotted her several times ourselves. Each time she's been spotted, she's been running either through roads or in back yards. She's obviously very afraid of people, and we've received some great advice from helpful experts in the field of dog recue: If you see her, it's best not to acknowledge her by name, go towards her, or even make eye contact. Instead we should try to turn away slightly while still keeping an eye on where she's going. Please continue contacting us when you see her because one of these times, we'll be able to catch up and find her in a place where she can't run off. We are SO grateful for the many ways the community has helped Clementine (and us) over the past 24 hours - from people sharing kind words, calling in sightings, to referring us to professionals, and even lending a hand in looking out for her. Thank you so much for your help and encouragement! We will update the listserv with any relevant changes. Below is my original posting from this morning: My partner and I adopted an extremely shy and skittish black lab and basset hound mix today only to have her wiggle out of her full harness and leash as we stepped out of the car to bring her into her new home. She darted down the alley at the end of Mellon by the high rise at around 6:30pm Saturday and we haven't seen her since. Her name is Clementine. She is an absolute sweetheart and we were really looking forward to giving her a home and helping her gain trust in people again :( She has no idea where she is and we suspect she's hiding out under a bush or in a yard somewhere nearby. It's unlikely that she will come to someone trying to offer help. If you have seen her or have any information that might help us find her, please call us at 727-458-5237 (Katie) or 814-758-2119 (Kelly). Any help is very appreciated! Attached is her picture.
