Recommendations for Heating Contractors - We asked for those contractors who specialized in boilers American Heating I have used and highly recommend American Heating.....I just had my boiler replaced last fall, and they also installed my duct work and whole-house air-conditioning years ago. They are a family owned business and very reputable. You will have no problems with them...they were a delight. They are based in the South Hills, at 5120 Old Clairton Road, and their number is 412-242-4600. Good luck. Mine was around $6500 installed....I got a Byrant 90% Gas boiler model BW9....it is energy efficient and I believe it has saved me money on my gas bills. Boilers and more expensive than furnaces, but should last longer. ARS ( Automatic Control Services) We got our boiler from ARS in Glenshaw. They came back til it was functioning quietly. we went with the german made high efficiency one, though it cost more. they can give you a range.. I got their name from someone who manages several properties and has used them repeatedly. Their bid was cheaper than the ones from the companies that do a lot of advertising. Brunner, Al We had a high efficiency German boiler installed last fall, called Buderus. We're very happy with it. After getting 4 quotes we went with Al Brunner - (412) 279-2971. We paid 7,700. PS: whatever boiler you get, always check online the model's real efficiency rate, contractors tend to embellish that. Dongilli Don't know about boilers, but we've used Dongilli for years. They tell you what you don't need. I really like them. William Leslie We like William Leslie and he installed a new boiler for us several years ago. 412-492-1890. He sends a reminder to have things checked in the fall and sometimes we do that. Schulteis Bros A better contractor is Schulteis Bros. Also, a better make of boiler would be a Burnham. Seigle, Mark I researched new boilers four years ago and Weil-McLain made my top brands list for high efficiency units. My plumber was doing the same and also had Weil-McLain at the top of his list. He was at our house last month for other work and we talked about his experiences since ours was installed in 2005. He said there are a lot of companies jumping on the high efficiency bandwagon, and he is skeptical of many of them. Tedesco Heating They do great work and they are local (Highland Park). I use a very good heat/cool co. -TEDESCO Heating &Cooling -He is a HP resident (Hampton Ave.) and very reasonable and real,nice guy!!! 412-441-7747 I have always used Tedesco Heating & Cooling. Paul is the owner. He has done furnaces, boilers, and A/C work for me and is reasonable and detail oriented. Also lives in HP. 412 441-7747 We had Paul Tedesco, 412-441-7747, install a new boiler for us around 5 years ago. We got 3 estimates and his was the most reasonable. We paid around $2,600. We also have him help us keep some very old heat pumps alive in our house. He is local and has always been very responsive when we've called. Village Plumbing We just used Dan from Village Plumbing, who was recommended by our general contractor for our new kitchen and he did a great job...His number is 412 2609787. Wolfe I can HIGHLY recommend WOLFE Heating and Air Conditioning. He has replaced my furnace and several friends furnaces.
