The Kiwanis Club of East Liberty has invited John, professor of Critical Care Medicine at UPMC, to speak to us about his medical research which has focused on Sepsis: the deadliest disease you never heard of. As many as 1000 Americans die EVERY DAY from sepsis --more deaths than from lung and breast cancer combined. Yet this condition is poorly understood and existing treatments are limited.
