[Highland Park] Dr. Kellum speaks Thursday
SEPSIS: IT'S A KILLER! Highland Park resident, Dr. John Kellum will speak this Thursday, November 2nd in the Atrium of the Union Project at 5:45 PM. The Kiwanis Club of East Liberty has invited John, professor of Critical Care Medicine at UPMC, to speak to us about his medical research which has focused on Sepsis: the deadliest disease you never heard of. As many as 1000 Americans die EVERY DAY from sepsis --more deaths than from lung and breast cancer combined. Yet this condition is poorly understood and existing treatments are limited. Everyone is welcome! Please join us this Thursday evening for this informative program featuring an award winning teacher and a complimentary wine and cheese reception. For more information about John visit <http://www.ccm.upmc.edu/archive/faculty/bios/kellum.html> To learn more about the Kiwanis Club of East Liberty contact Emily Hasse at <ERenee19@yahoo.com> or Susy Robison at <srobison@pittsburghsymphony.org> or 412-392-4839.
