Happy New Year! A holiday car-trip to New England confirmed that my Subaru wagon needs better help. I'm looking for recommendations on reasonable non-dealer mechanics who specialize in, or work well with Subarus. I have a 99 Outback that has many engine problems (engine timing, burning oil, transmission) the local dealers can't seem to solve, or want to charge new-car prices to fix.
