Last call for neighborhood tree pick up fundraiser!
Thank you to the folks who have signed up to have their Christmas tree picked up and brought to the city’s tree drop off lots! We have a few more spots available, but need to know by tomorrow (Friday)if you still want to sign up. We will be collecting trees this Sunday, January 5. Here is the link to sign up if you live in Highland Park, Morningside, East Liberty or Larimer: https://forms.gle/NzUfE5SqLALy42qYA If you live in other city neighborhoods or would like to share information about the program with friends, this flyer has links to all of the troops doing the pickups: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oGuyGAE8hKrLYWGyCjrIbGSZDzdjGU4bcbJfiflr... If you can't make that January 5 date, please check with the city's webpage for details about drop off locations and dates: https://www.pittsburghpa.gov/Resident-Services/Trash-Recycling/Drop-Off-Info... Once you sign up, and after we get closer to the pick up date, you will receive an email with more details. If you can’t get your tree to one of the lots, please consider tucking it into a corner of your yard, as a habitat for birds and insects, rather than putting it out for trash pick up. See this article for ways to re-use your tree without lugging it to a lot: https://www.countryliving.com/uk/homes-interiors/interiors/a25420891/what-to... <https://www.gardenersworld.com/plants/six-ways-to-recycle-your-christmas-tree/> Wishing you all a peaceful New Year!
