Dear neighbors, I'm asking for your help in how to deal with a neighbor who sold something to us. The item does not work and never did work (the parts aren't even from the same tool! Conveniently delivered with 2 weeks apart, so we had lots of time to clean and oil the first part before realizing it wouldn't work!). This neighbor actually said "By all rights, the saw is now yours. You bought it and paid for it." but then later offered to refund the cash and take it away. That was in December and we're still waiting for resolve. I hate the idea that I can't trust one of my neighbors, and unfortunately I will be extra cautious when next I buy something from a neighbor, but I don't know how to resolve this situation.
