Yesterday, I got a call from Duquesne light asking why they'd not received this months payment yet. Now, I had just paid a mess of bills, and sure enough, the electric bill was not amongst them. Thankfully, they are sending me a fresh one. Now I appreciate this might not sound like much, but when I was paying bills either this, or last month, I had reason to write a wee complaint to another utility company hitting me with 2 months worth of billing + late fees, because again; I had not received the previous months bill. Add to this, a good deal of time very recently spent pursuing the USPS (and particularly the local East Liberty branch) over 2 separate missing packages. Both of these packages were missing courtesy of the postal carrier/office (1 delivered to the wrong address, 1 just plain not delivered, and left on the shelf at the post office). Through notes here on the Listserve I discover that I am certainly not alone in this issue of missing packages, and I am now wondering if others have noted similar missing mail? Whenever I have spoken to the local PO, I have been told "oh, it's just that it's a new guy", and this too seems consistent with what other neighbours have been told too. I now find myself wondering what other mail I haven't received. I'm not worried about the bills, they will always find me. Sadly their pursuit is what makes me worry about other mail.
