Hi, I live on Mellon. Just a little while ago a young girl came to our front door and asked for a "cash donation to my school" (and then she pointed to Fulton, she never even said the school's name). I was confused and asked her why she was asking for cash and she said it was for a trip to Idlewild. I asked her whether she had any information or brochures on her but she did not. I told her if she brought something back I would consider it but I did not have cash on me. It seems super strange to ask students to collect money for a school trip in January to Idlewild. I did not see any adults with this girl and its possible she is too old to even go to Fulton. She looked about 9-12. Did anyone else encounter this girl? I'm concerned an adult asked her to do this to get money for something else. I intend to contact the school tomorrow. Breanna
I wanted to post an update to my query - Fulton Elementary has asked their students to raise money (specifically cash) as part of the Sweetheart's Ball for the fifth grade end of the year field trip. Whoever raises the most money will be crowned King/Queen. There is a sponsor sheet attached to the request but I suspect this young girl may just have forgotten it. She was very polite and a little timid. Thanks to all the parents and neighbors with their quick response! Breanna On Sun, Jan 24, 2016 at 3:15 PM, Breanna Jay <breanna.jay@gmail.com> wrote:
