Hey folks! I am looking to make some changes in my health care and am hoping for recommendations for one or more of the following: 1) A rheumatologist who can think outside the box. I've tried almost all of the currently-recommended treatments for my condition (psoriatic arthritis), and none has worked, so I need someone who's on the cutting edge and/or isn't afraid to try something new. 2) A dermatologist (same story as the rheumatologist) 3) A shoulder surgeon with experience dealing with joints damaged by arthritis (as opposed to just sports injuries) 4) A chiropractor with a gentle touch 5) A primary care physician who is both a good listener and experienced in dealing with patients with chronic health issues (and who is open-minded about non-traditional approaches to health care) 6) A pain management doc In all cases, I need the provider to take UPMC insurance and have excellent bedside manner. Given the choice, I'd much rather go to a doctor who will leave me waiting for a while than a doctor who will make me feel like s/he doesn't have time to talk to me about treatments and issues.
