Volunteers needed to water trees in Highland Park
Help keep your park green and vibrant this summer - join us for a tree-watering orientation for volunteers on Wednesday, July 2, at 6:30 pm at the Farmhouse! Last summer, a small group of us, mostly from the NW quadrant of Highland Park, volunteered to water the new trees that had been planted around the Highland Park Farmhouse Playground and Ball Field. As the summer heats up, we are planning to continue watering these trees and the other new trees planted in this area. We would love to have more HP residents join us, whether you you can help out just one night - or want to water trees ever weekend! We'll be holding an orientation/introduction/sign-up session - and watering - this Wednesday (July 2). If you'd be interested in helping out, please consider joining us - *we'll be meeting at the Farmhouse Porch on Wednesday (7/2) at 6:30 pm. * Watering sessions are held Wednesday evenings at 6:30 and Saturday mornings at 9; we typically pair an experienced volunteer who knows the routine and watering systems with a less experienced volunteer, watering in teams of two to three volunteers each session. We expect to be watering regularly throughout July, August and the first two weeks of September. *If you are interested in volunteering to water, even if it's just for one night, but can't be there this Wednesday, that's OK too! *Please email me your name and contact information, and we'll follow-up with you directly about when you'd like to volunteer.
