[Highland Park] Heths Run Public Meetings
Dear Highland Park Community Members: The first in a series of public meeting meetings to discus the design of the Heths Run Ecological and Recreation Restoration Project has been scheduled. The City of Pittsburgh, and the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium will host a public meeting to discuss the development of the Heths Run Park and new zoo parking lot. This meeting will focus on community issues and concerns and will allow the design consultants to gather feedback from neighborhood residents. The meeting will be held November 9th at 6:00 PM in the Lecture Hall of the Zoo Education Center located on One Wild Place. Parking is at the front of the main lot, located off of Baker Street as there are few spaces available at the Education Center. The Second meeting will be a half day design forum where residents will get a chance to explore the project site and have a hand-on opportunity to get involved with the design process. This meeting will be on Friday, November 16 from Noon-4:00 PM. Part of this meeting will be outdoors so participants are encouraged to wear warm clothes and walking shoes. The third meeting will be on Monday, December 10th at 6:00 PM in the Zoo Education Center. At this meeting the design consultants will publicly present their plans for the Heths Run Park and redesign of the Zoo entrance and parking lot. Any questions concerning the times and dates of these meetings is encouraged to contact Benjamin Kelley, Senior Planner with Mackin Engineering at (412) 788-0472 Benjamin Kelley - Senior Planner - Mackin Engineering (Phone) 412-788-0472 (Fax) 412-787-3588 bkelley@mackinengineering.com
