Fwd: Negley - Bryant traffic safety improvements coming
*From the Mayor's Office:* Negley Ave area neighbors: The city has programmed a traffic safety betterment project to improve the Negley Ave at Bryant Street intersection and pedestrian crossings. We will begin construction this week and expect work to be completed by the end of July. Please see the below summary from DOMI. - In 2015 a quick-build safety project at Negley Avenue at Bryant Street was installed to improve the pedestrian crossing. Pavement markings and flexposts were used to daylight the intersection and shorten the pedestrian crossing. This location has high pedestrian generators with bus stops present as well as near the business district on Bryant Street. - Planned improvements include two permanent concrete curb extensions which will replace flexposts. Please see diagram below outlining locations. New ADA ramps will be installed along with the curb extensions. All trees at the intersection are to be protected. - In addition to curb extensions, this location will be stop controlled to better manage traffic operations and right of way at the intersection. Crosswalks will be refreshed as part of this project as well. This info is also all summarized on EngagePGH here: https://engage.pittsburghpa.gov/neighborhood-traffic-calming/negley-bryant-t... As always, reach out if you have questions! I've included relevant team members who lead outreach on this type of work and in this section of the city. Thanks for all you each do! *Rebekkah Ranallo* Neighborhood Services Senior Manager, Office of the Mayor Pronouns: She/Her/Hers Mobile: 412.522.7499 Rebekkah.ranallo@pittsburghpa.gov 414 Grant Street, Office 520 Pittsburgh, PA 15219 *Click here <https://bit.ly/WhatsGoodPGH> to subscribe to the Mayor's Office e-newsletter!* -- Click here to visit our website <https://hpccpgh.org/>
