[Highland Park] Re: Missing Packages
We recently received a package intended for someone else on our street--many of the house numbers are a combination of 4s and 5s, and the UPS driver reversed the numbers. Unfortunately, when this happened once before, we found UPS to be unhelpful at first. They were slow to respond to our phone calls and to send a driver to collect the package (I'm guessing this is because in their records the driver had noted the package as "delivered"). After a while we just placed the package on the correct porch ourselves, being careful not to leave it in a place visible from the sidewalk (we also rang the doorbell). UPS did eventually follow-up with us, and the correct owner acknowledged receipt of the item. If someone else has your box, you might be experiencing a similar kind of delay. It's still a good idea to call UPS to have an official record, but with so many items being delivered this time of year, it seems plausible that drivers are experiencing some mix-ups. Hi, does anyone have a gently used ping pong table that they are willing to sell?
Thanks! Alison

I was lucky enough to be home and within earshot of the doorbell when UPS came to my place yesterday. However, that same day (Friday, 12/19) I received a card from my mother with the envelope slit open on 2 sides. I called USPS 800# right away to report it. Anyone else have a problem like this?

I also have recently had some packages delivered by UPS to my front porch which I never actually received. Seems there may be a link here. I suppose we should make police reports when this kind of thing happens...though I'll be happy to join Margo in her optimism, so if anyone mistakenly received some baking/cooking supplies from Bed Bath and Beyond or some Advent candles from CBD.com, please let me know.
Thanks, and happy holidays,

Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if any of you had mistakenly received either of two packages yesterday, one from Amazon.com shipped by USPS and one from Petco shipped by FedEx, that were supposedly delivered to my home at 9:42am and 2:56pm, respectively, and mysteriously vanished from the front porch. I'm hoping they just got delivered to the wrong house and not that someone has taken them (Seriously, who really wants a box full of cheap cat toys and a vampire novel anyway?) There were 2 other packages that were delivered and left on the front porch yesterday that were still there when we got home from work.
I've already contacted USPS and FedEx to try to track them down, but I'm hoping that they turn up somewhere in the neighborhood. If you have any information, please contact me at the phone number or email address below.
