Zone 5 Weekly Crime Report Week of Mar 23 through Mar Mar 29 Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Zone 5 Police Station Weekly Crime Report *Week of Mar 23 through Mar 29* In loving memory of Officers Paul Sciullo II, Stephen Mayhle, and Eric Kelly. EOW 4-4-09. *Homewood / East Hills* *3/24/20-Theft from Vehicle in the 7100 block of Hermitage at 5:30 PM- * A victim stated that he parked his vehicle outside his residence and brought some bags inside his residence. When the victim went back outside to make sure his doors were locked, he discovered that his Smith & Wesson 9 mm pistol had been stolen from his glove box. (58622) *3/26/20- Theft of a Firearm in the 1000 block of Blackadore St at 5:00 PM- *A victim stated that she was sitting on her front with baby daughter, who began to cry. The victim stated that she went inside with her baby to get a bottle, and during the short time she was inside, someone stole her purse which had been sitting on the porch unattended. The purse contained a Smith & Wesson .380 caliber pistol. (59382) *3/26/20- Aggravated Assault/Male Shot in the 7900 block of Susquehanna St at 7:54 PM- *Zone 5 Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert and found numerous spent casings, and a vehicle that appeared to have been struck by gunfire in the rear bumper. A short time later, a victim appeared a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his his right hand, and detectives determined that the shooting had occurred in the 7900 block of Susquehanna St. There is no description of the suspect. (59497) *3/27/20- Aggravated Assault/Male Shot in the 400 block of Rosedale St at 6:00 PM- *A victim stated that he was walking on Rosedale Street when the driver of an unknown vehicle passed him, and shot him in the left upper leg. Officers had also received a ShotSpotter alert for the 400 block of Rosedale St, but Officers actually found the victim in the 600 block of Sickles St, when the victim called 911 to update his location. The victim could not explain to officers how he got from Rosedale St to Sickles St. The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. (60085) *3/28/20- Robbery in the 7400 block of Monticello St at 2:00 PM- * Zone 5 responded to a call for a pizza delivery driver who has just been robbed at gunpoint by two black males, one with a red shirt and short black hair, and one with a brown shirt and short black hair. The victim stated that the male with the red shirt approached his car, pointed a gun at him, and demanded "give me everything". The victim then threw his boxes of pizza and wings out of his car and drove off. (60550) *3/29/20- Robbery in the 1000 block of Brushton Ave at 1:00 AM- *Zone 5 Officers responded to a call for a pizza delivery driver who has just been robbed. The victim stated that a light-skinned black male, possibly in his teens, struck him in the head with gray metal ball tow hitch, and stole pizza from him. Fortunately, the victim was not seriously injured. (60867) *Larimer / Lincoln-Lemington* *3/23/20- Aggravated Assault/Male Shot in the 1500 block of Westmoreland Ave at 2:12 PM- *Zone 5 Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1500 block of Westmoreland Ave. Officers then received updated information that a victim of gunshot was in the 6300 block of Penn Ave, the victim had driven himself to that location. Medics then drove the victim to the updated location, and transported him to a local hospital. (57320) *3/23/20-Theft in the 100 block of Auburn St- *A victim stated two pink metal porch chairs were stolen from her front porch sometime after 10:30 PM. (61215) *3/23/20- Theft in the 100 block of Auburn St- *A victim stated that two high-back resin patio chairs and a three-tier plant stand were stolen from her front porch sometime after 11:00 PM (60967) *Bloomfield / Garfield / Friendship* *3/23/20- Burglary in the 5100 block of Penn Ave at 10:30 PM- *Zone 5 Officers responded to a burglary in progress of a local retail store. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a store front window was smashed with a brick. It was later discovered that $1000 worth of clothing was stolen. (57567) *3/23/20- Theft in the 4600 block of Juniper St- *A victim reported that sometime after 7:30 PM, an unknown suspect stole an aluminum frame for 2008 Acura, valued at $500. (57848) *3/23/20- Theft in the 100 block of N Negley Ave*- A victim stated that she left work and did not realize that her purse was missing until she returned to work the next day, and realized it was gone. Several fraudulent charges were attempted with the victim's credit cards. (61958) *3/28/20-Burglary in the 4500 block of Friendship Ave- *A victim reported that sometime between 3/28 at 9:15 PM and 3/29 at 12:30 PM, an unknown suspect had gained entry through her front door and ransacked her house. Nothing was reported to be stolen. (61106) *3/29/20-Burglary in the 4900 block of Baum Blvd at 7:51 PM- *A victim reported that a local business he manages had been broken into. The cash registered had been tampered with, and a small amount of money had been stolen. (61455) *East Liberty/Highland Park* *3/24/20-Burglary in the 800 block of N. Highland Ave- *A victim reported that between 3/24/20 at 10:00 PM and 3/26/20 at 8:00 AM, an unknown suspect broke into his detached garage and stole his silver and black 20" Trek bicycle. (59219) *3/24/20-Theft from Vehicle in the 1300 block of Heberton St- *A victim reported that sometime after 8:00 PM, an unknown suspect stole a backpack from his parked vehicle. (58392) *3/24/20-Theft from Vehicle in the 1100 block of N Negley Ave- *A victim reported that someone broke into her vehicle while it was parked in her driveway, and damaged her steering column sometime between 3/24/20 at 12:00 AM, and 3/26/20 at 8:30 PM. (61762) *3/25/20- Theft from Vehicle in the 1200 block of Farragut St- *A victim reported that his unlocked vehicle was broken into sometime between 3/25/20 at 4:00 PM and 3/27/20 at 2:00 PM, and stole change. (59958) *3/25/20-Theft from Vehicle in the 900 block of Portland St at 1:45 AM- * A victim reported that her vehicle was broken into around 1:40 AM, and $40.00 was stolen from it. (58262) *3/28/20- Theft of Vehicle in the 1400 block of Browning Road-* A victim reported that her 2014 Sliver Honda Accord, PA plate FSM-2128 was stolen from it's parking spot sometime after 6:00 PM. (61305) *3/28/20- Theft from Vehicle in the 700 block of N. St Clair St-* A victim reported that sometime after 7:00 PM, an unknown suspect ransacked her vehicle and stole a bottle of Pito's Vodka from it. (61078) *3/28/20- Aggravated Assault at the Intersection of Washington Blvd and Allegheny River Blvd at 2:25 AM- *Zone 5 Officers responded to Washington Blvd for a report of shots fired involving two vehicles. Officers found one vehicle wrecked into train tracks near this intersection, and observed a black Chrysler 300 occupied by two males, parked nearby. One of the males told officers that the wrecked vehicle had four people inside who fled the vehicle after it had crashed. After searching the immediate area, officers were able to find all occupants who fled from the vehicle. The victims stated that they were stopped at the Sunoco gas station on Negley Avenue when the occupants of the black Chrysler which was now stopped near their present location, started staring at them intently, causing them to be concerned. The victims stated that they drove away, eventually making their way to Washington Boulevard, but had called 911 to report that the Chrysler had been following their every move, and accelerated when they accelerated. According to the victims, the 911 dispatcher advised them to pull into the Zone 5 Police Station, but instead they accelerated past the police station and continued at a high rate of speed. The victims stated that between the Zone 5 police station and Allegheny River Blvd, they heard shots being fired from the Chrysler, which made the driver continue at a high rate of speed, where he eventually crashed into the railroad tracks. Upon wrecking, the victims all fled on foot from the occupants of the Chrysler. The occupants of the Chrysler were identified as Terrell Ford, 26, of East Liberty, and Terrell Thompson, 44, Hill District. After officers found an FN Five-Seven pistol in the Chrysler, found spent shell casings on Washington Boulevard, and interviewed all witnesses and suspects involved, Ford and Thompson were both arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, weapons charges, and other assault charges. (60889) *3/29/20-Burglary in the 300 block of S. St Clair St at 1:50 PM- * Zone 5 Officers responded to a report of a local restaurant with a smashed window. Pry marks were found around the window. It is unknown at this time if anything was stolen from the restaurant. (61138) *3/29/20-Aggravated Assault at the Intersection of Black St and N. Negley Ave at 5:43 PM- *Zone 5 Officers responded to ShotSpotter alerts on Mossfield St and the 800 block of N Highland Ave. While officers were checking the area for a report of two vehicles which were shooting at each other, they found a third vehicle wrecked into a house in the 500 block of N. Negley Ave. Officers spoke with the female victim involved in the crash, and the victim stated that as she was traveling on Black Street, a dark colored vehicle was following her, and one of the occupants of the vehicle had been shooting at her. The victim stated that as she tried to get away, she lost control of her vehicle and wrecked into a house. Fortunately, the victim was not seriously injured. The investigation is ongoing. (61296) *Morningside / Stanton Heights / Waterworks* *3/24/20- Theft from Vehicle in the 900 block of Highview St- *A victim reported that sometime after 9:30 PM, her vehicle had been ransacked. It is unknown if anything was stolen.
