The Garden Club of Allegheny County News Contact: Cindy Tilson, (412) 726-7114 Pizzazz Returns with Fresh Perspective (PITTSBURGH – September, 2008) – The Garden Club of Allegheny County is pleased to announce the return of Pizzazz – the much anticipated, annual shopping extravaganza, featuring 30 unique designer boutiques from around the country. With each designer carefully chosen on the basis of quality, originality and exclusivity, Pizzazz brings a fresh perspective to Pittsburgh. According to Pizzazz Chair Nancy McGough, “Pizzazz is yet another pleasant Pittsburgh surprise. For 13 years, loyal customers have shopped for themselves, their spouses and children among a cosmopolitan collection of 30 chichi boutiques located in one distinguished spot—Fox Chapel Golf Club.” Added GCAC President, Shelley Clement, “Pizzazz is a great fundraiser for so many reasons- it’s a fun activity that brings all our members together, it gives us all an excuse to shop at unique boutiques and it benefits the entire community. We are most excited about our collaboration with the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy this year.” Pizzazz will be held at the Fox Chapel Golf Club on Thursday, October 16 and Friday, October 17, and admission is $5. The event will be open on Thursday from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM and on Friday from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The Garden Club of Allegheny County has a strong commitment to funding innovative environmental projects that will improve the quality of life throughout the Pittsburgh community. This year a majority of our net proceeds from Pizzazz will be awarded to the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy to support development of a master landscape plan for the redevelopment of the new Environmental Center at Frick Park. This wide-reaching, community focused initiative will be an environmental center of national caliber, with a focus on providing hands on educational programming for school-aged children designed to reconnect them with nature.
