[Highland Park] English Conversation Lessons
Hello neighbors! I sent my youngest child off to kindergarten this week, which gives me the opportunity to pick up extra work in something dear to my heart teaching English conversation skills to non-native speakers. Im posting this notice to the neighborhood list first before I advertise in the local university newspapers. Feel free to forward my announcement to anyone who may be interested in my services. Also, I just moved to Pittsburgh this summer and am still finding my way around. If any neighbors have ideas of other ways for me to reach potential English conversation students, I would love to hear from you! Thank you! An opportunity to converse with a native English speaker who has a critical ear but a gentle manner. Help with understanding a variety of everyday language and cultural obstacles in American society, such as forms and applications, telephone conversation, childrens homework and school notices, holidays and traditions, the grocery store, and more. Tailored conversation sessions designed to meet your unique English-language and cultural-understanding needs and interests. My qualifications: BA in journalism from the University of North Carolina; MA in journalism from the University of Maryland. Former newspaper reporter and journalism writing instructor, with experience in interviewing, writing, and editing, as well as in teaching grammar, punctuation and spelling skills. Nearly two years of experience teaching English conversation and American culture to a Japanese client, both in person in the United States and by a real time Internet connection to Tokyo. Enthusiasm, honesty and humor! My clients: Must have a basic proficiency of English. I am not qualified to teach English to beginners. Rather, I can help you build your English vocabulary, improve your pronunciation, and expand your understanding of American culture. Bonus: I especially enjoy working with stay-at-home mothers, and I welcome your young children at our sessions. Availability: Weekly conversation sessions can be scheduled between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. I have some limited availability in the evenings and on the weekends. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Yahoo! oneSearch: Finally, mobile search that gives answers, not web links. http://mobile.yahoo.com/mobileweb/onesearch?refer=1ONXIC
