[Highland Park] empty property
Yep, I feel very comfortable in my view. My use of "I'm sorry" at the start of my other post was merely a polite colloquialism. And I DO see a reason to target abandoned buildings as unnecessarily posing a danger. True the man arrested has not been convicted and is suspected of frequenting an empty house in the area. But IF it turns out that he was the assailant AND that he was squatting, do we only THEN start to consider whether an empty and unguarded property allowed a would-be assailant to go relatively unnoticed or to watch potential victims? OF COURSE we need to be considering how to prevent all crime, but it would be illogical to ignore factors that can contribute to such! Since you mention that you have not seen any posts initiating a discussion on how to prevent rape in our community, perhaps you could start (I'm not being facetious). Thank you.Alycia
