Howdy, Neighbors! I’m in search of someone who can take a look at a window AC unit that seems to be getting power (it clicks and does a bit of buzzing), but doesn’t actually run. The unit serves a walk-in cooler at Hilltop Urban Farm, a very cool community-based agricultural nonprofit located in Mt. Oliver. The unit is powered by an off-grid solar and battery system, which I help the farm maintain, but AC work is out of my wheelhouse. Based on a bit of research, my guess would be that the unit has a faulty condenser, motor, or fan capacitor, but I really have no idea. This is a small job, so I suspect it won’t be of interest for a larger outfit (especially when a few hours of their labor might pay for a new unit). However, if anyone knows of an individual or smaller repair company that might be interested (or has experience with this stuff), I’ll appreciate any leads you might have to offer!
