[Highland Park] Suspicious thing
Late Thursday morning, my doorbell rang twice. When I felt like going downstairs, I checked to see if a package had been delivered or something, but instead, a piece of mail was on the doormat. I'm a little paranoid since getting broken into this summer, so I can't help but wonder if it was a test to see if anyone was home. Let's all be extra vigilant for each other, and if you're leaving for the holidays, maybe some fun booby-traps are in order! I think there are some old paint cans in our basement if anyone wants one. Ha! (Home Alone reference...)
Similar to what someone reported recently, a package delivered from the mail to our door was opened, the contents taken and the envelop left behind. Of course we can do nothing about it, but it seems someone is roaming the neighborhood with not so good intentions. Mayte On 12/20/12 12:30 PM, Margaret Krumm wrote:

This is unfortunate. Two things come to mind: 1) a fellow from wilkinsburg was just arrested for stealing packages off of porches and apartment lobbies on Hobart street in squirrel hill. Maybe connected people or copycats are acting in hp? 2) there are shady and aggressive energy people going door to door in the neighborhood again. Possible connection? At any rate, it is a good time of year to reach out to neighbors in order to establish neighborhood watch. Patrick J.
