My dear friend, Husein Taherbhai has entertained us yet again in his new book called 'Joshua's Touch' JOSHUA’S TOUCH is an e-book that encompasses a paranormal genre. It deals with betrayal, re-kindled love, CIA and Homeland Security involvement, and a thrilling end that makes the book a must-read in the coming holiday season and beyond. Josh Hawkins is possessed so that the first person he touches after doing something good gets a dose of “bad” transferred to him/her. Similarly, something good is transferred after Josh does a physical harm to someone else. The intensity of the good or the bad Josh transfers is in proportion to the kind of hurt or good he has committed. In other words, if he saves someone’s life, he would transfer death to someone he touches, and vice versa. The curse is a tremendous burden on Josh who ultimately lands up in a psychiatric ward. Nobody believes his bizarre story, including his best friend Tom. Because of Josh’s high profile job as an expert in bio-chemical warfare, he arouses the interest of the Secretaries of CIA and the Department of Homeland Security who see him as a weapon to transfer death to select human targets without any noticeable involvement of the U.S. government. However, Josh and his fiancée, Lauren, do not want to be a part of this diabolic scheme. They desperately seek for a way to end the curse. For one thing, Josh has to be constantly on the alert lest he unknowingly helps someone that would make him transfer something “bad” to the first person he touches. Besides the physical pain in the transfer process takes a toll on his health. Is there a way Josh can end the curse? Will the CIA allow him to do it? Who does he kill? Whose lives does he save? How does his relationship with Tom progress? How does his love for Lauren evolve? For the exciting nail-biting finish, read “Joshua’s Touch” available from December 16th at: http://www.wildchildpublishing.com/index.php? The book will also be available from amazon.com, iTunes, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, Overdrive and OmniLit. Excerpt: “You’re living in a world where I’m not allowed to enter. You may tell me whatever you want to, but I think you’re hiding something from me and this… this…,” she said pointing to the dead dog, “…he was very important to me. Charlie was a part of my life since my grandma gave him to me on my twentieth birthday.” Lauren paced the floor. “If something was important to you, you wouldn’t have gone to your meeting,” she continued, “What if I’d been sick? Would you have gone to your precious meeting? You and Tom pretty much control things in your department. You just didn’t care about what was important to me, or even if you did care, you don’t know anything that’s of importance to me, do you? In either case, we aren’t compatible. Even without the Charlie incident, I knew in my heart, there would come a time when I’d have had to leave you. You don’t trust me enough to tell me what’s bothering you, and because of what you did to my dog, I don’t trust you to keep your word to me.” Josh listened to her without interruption. He hoped she’d somehow forgive him because of the love they’d shared, although he knew she was right in feeling the way she did. Deep down, he also knew she loved him in spite of what had happened. For a split second, he thought of telling her of his predicament, but his inner voice cautioned him against doing that. It would make matters worse. Lauren would think him crazy and he couldn’t allow that to happen. “Look,” he said, “I don’t know what to say. I’m sorry. I wish I could take it back.” But his words crashed against her wails of despair. They resolved nothing. They explained nothing. They merely shattered in mid-air, scattering at his feet, trampled by his desire to convince her, to make her forgive him. But she didn’t see it that way. She turned her back to him.
