Hello, For those of you unable to attend last week's HPCC community meeting, you missed good news and a good time. In terms of Public Safety, Zone 5 was represented by Commander Vinanski, Lt. Gauntner, and Officer Crawford. They reported that in response to the concerns raised at last month's meeting, they increased patrols here in HP and looked more closely at robberies happening across the zone, resulting in some kids who were tied to burglaries being picked up. The result was that from Jan 20 - Feb 20, 2020, there was only ONE reported crime in HP - - a theft from an unlocked vehicle. HP remains one of the safest neighborhoods in the city. Also, for those of you interested in Block Watches, they left some information. If you're interested, please send me an email. The other fun you missed at last week's meeting was Casa Brasil - co-owner Tim Guthrie provided great food and told us a bit about their history and plans for expanded hours and services. HPCC Community Meetings are always interesting, in large part due to the great crowd from the neighborhood. If you haven't come before, please try to drop by! They are the 3rd Thursday of most months, 7 pm, St. Andrew's Church. Stephanie Walsh HPCC President -- Highland Park Community Council Visit our website by clicking here.
