Your Sidewalk, your neighbor's transportation corridor!
Hi Neighbors! Now that we are actually getting some snow, just a polite reminder that it's quite important to clear snow from your sidewalk - front and sides if you live on a corner - after a snow storm. Particularly for those living in the hilly parts of the neighborhood. There are a lot of us living at the top of the hill who must walk down streets like Bryant, Wellesley, Hampton and Heberton each morning to take our kids to school/the school bus stop or ourselves to the PAT Bus Stops. The sidewalks get very treacherous on these hills when they haven't been shoveled, as they turn into ice in the morning. If you aren't physically able to shovel your walk, you can request help from the city's snow angels program: http://pittsburghpa.gov/snowangels/index.html - or please just ask a neighbor! I know on our street, we try to help out our neighbors who can't easily shovel by clearing there walks when we are out shoveling our own. Thanks so much folks!
