Around noon time today, as I was putting a few things into my car, parked in my driveway about 30 feet from the street, I went inside my house (1200 block of Heberton) for about 10 minutes, leaving the car unlocked. (Which I NEVER, well, almost never, do.) When I came back out I saw that the front door was ajar, and a small panel cover was on the driveway. Turns out it was the panel to an interior fuse box, that had been snapped open during the thief's search for stuff. ... also turns out that every drawer, panel, access door, glove compartment, etc etc had been opened, as the thief searched, rapidly but mainly unsuccessfully, for something of value (to him or her). Thief didn't take any CD's (so much for my taste in music) or any papers or documents. The one thing they did steal was my ratty old gym bag, probably thinking that because it had a lock on it, something valuable was inside. But mainly mistaken, just a bunch of stinky gym clothes. BUT, they did get my Bose headphones, alas. I notified the cops and filed a theft report. So stay alert, and even in midday, when you are only a few feet away inside your home: keep you car locked!! Older and wiser now. DK
Discovered by a neighbor, scattered on hillside in Park. Will be returned to me shortly. :-) -dk On 7/26/19 5:55 PM, David Klahr wrote:
