Roy is a special cat with a special story. Four years ago we rescued Roy on a frosty New Years in East Liberty. We had a new home arranged for him when it was discovered that he had Feline Leukemia. Rather than destroy him, we decided to give him a home until he passed away which the vet predicted would be in 6 to 18 months. BUT it turns out Roy is a carrier and completely asymptomatic, he has been a healthy happy boy who continues to test positive for FeLV!? In the past 4 years we relocated out of the city to a farm and it is very difficult to give Roy the best life possible due to the need to keep him indoors full-time and separate from our other cats since he is a carrier of FeLV (though dogs and other pet companions are fine). We are hoping there is a family or person out there who wants a friendly, beautiful kitty with some special needs that would be interested in adopting Roy and giving him a great life.
