MLK Events this weekend right in the 'hood!
Neighbors - The weather promises to be icky this weekend - we've got MLK celebrations right here in your back (front, side) yard! Both events are FREE and here at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary! 1. Bonhoeffer's Journey to Reality - Sat. 2pm Join Bonhoeffer biographer Charles Marsh to explore the transformation Bonhoeffer went through as he worshipped and learned alongside African Americans in 1930s America. These experiences emboldened him to preach and teach against the Aryan Clause during the rise of Nazism in Germany. How can we speak prophetically against the rise of racism and xenophobia today? http://www.pts.edu/Marsh_2016 2. EECM Interfaith Service and Lecture with David Garrow - Sunday 3:30pm Yes, I know there's a playoff game. You'll get home before the end of the first half. And bonus - you hear the Pulitzer-winning biographer of MLK speak! http://www.pts.edu/Kelso_2016 Hope to see you at one or both! Your neighbor, Helen Blier
