Has anyone else been having drinking water and washing water problems due to PWSA work?
Hi, Neighbors, For more than a month now we have had intermittent problems with brown drinking water and clogged washing machines and sink faucets. These problems started after the PWSA began work and well before the time they told us we would have problems, which they said would only happen briefly when they attached the new main pipe to the service lines connected to the houses on our street (Euclid) so we would then have to flush our water. They made this connection early this past week, and we did flush our water, and the problems continue. On Saturday evening, I started to do a laundry load of nice clothing, and there was an explosion of dirty brown water onto the clothes. The PWSA hadn’t done any work around here since Friday so it was jarring to suddenly have brown washing water again. A few weeks back, dirt had totally clogged our washing machines so we couldn’t run either. I have been drinking only bottled water for the past 3-4 weeks, after having our water turn brown even after boiling. Has anybody else been having such problems, or are we having them because our house is at an epicenter of PWSA work (the corner of Jackson and Euclid)? We have been very supportive of PWSA work, which we know is for longterm good, but we believe we should have been told how long this work was going to take (signs here indicate until June 17, and one of our earliest PWSA door signs is dated March 23), and especially about all the potentially unhealthy side effects that we might have to deal with. janet jai, MLA
