At curb, * 6020 Wellesley Ave (uphill from Highland)*, *100 or so just dug up daffodils.* Bring a bag; take all that you want. 1. Plant soon and let the leaves die back. The leaves (foliage) provide nutrition which is needed in order for the next year's flowers to bloom. "Daffodils can be lifted any time after bloom. Truth be told, they can be moved while they are *in* bloom. Dig with care to ensure that the foliage is not cut or pulled away from the bulbs. Replant immediately and water thoroughly." 2. The bulbs need to go back into soil in the next few days. 3. Plant at a depth of 3 times the size of the bulb. Dig a hole, drop in the bulb, leave the foliage to die back, cover with soil, tamp down lightly, and water. 4. Once the leaves are totally limp and wilting and brownish, you may cut them off. Daffodils will multiply and bloom next spring. Enjoy.
