The traditional service of Choral Evensong is sung by the Choirs of St. Andrew's Church, Highland Park, on the First Thursday evening of each month, October-May, at 8 p.m., with musical recital, and on the Third Sunday afternoon of each month, September-May, at 4:30 p.m., with Guest Preacher. This Sunday, February 19, at 4:30 p.m., the service will be sung by St. Andrew's Schola Cantorum. The Choir will be directed by Dr. Alastair Stout, with Scholar Jeremy Jelinek as organist. Featured at this service will be the premiere offering of a new Evening Service composed by Dr. Stout, the "St. Andrew's Service." Anthems as well by Sowerby and Joubert. Our Guest Preacher this Sunday will be the Rev. Cynthia Bronson Sweigert, former Rector of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood, and Ecumenical and Interfaith Officer for the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh.
