[Highland Park] Have you been to Catapult yet?
Catapult <http://www.catapultpgh.com/> is a temporary co-working/co-playing coffee shop brewing coffee with fire & glass. Catapult seeks to bring together community members, independent workers, and whoever happens by, to talk about what they want and need out of life and workspaces. Catapult is sponsored in part by the lovely folks at the Sprout Fund. *What is it?* In one word: community. In another word: support. It's about figuring out a business model where indy workers and the places where they frequent, co-exist and thrive. It's about supporting people who aren't connected to the resources of a large organization. It's about having a space for creatives to come together and meet each other. Unlike all the meet-up groups and Pittsburgh chapters, it's a physical space, a home base. Catapult welcomes people who: • Want a place to use their laptop and have a beer • Need to print but don't want to buy a printer • Want coffee brought to their table • Want to be a part of an indy worker community • Don't have a traditional, full-time office job • Don't have a living room or space to chill out in their apartment • Want to use the backyard • Want to have a business meeting • Want to go out, but don't want to buy a beverage • Want to work near other people working Catapult is located at 5151 Penn Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15224 and is open from 10am to Midnight, Monday through Saturday, during October 2011. For more details, visit: http://www.catapultpgh.com/the-plan/ I have been here to work, print documents, scan files, have meetings & chat with interesting folk.
