Evening Level I Yoga Class @ the Union Project Visit www.unionproject.org for information about the Union Project Description of class: This is a moderately-paced Hatha* yoga class which will include a variety of postures ranging from sun salutations to seated and prone postures designed to increase strength, flexibility and balance. *Hatha yoga focuses on breathing mindfully while practicing yoga postures, which results in an energizing and renewing workout. Health benefits from a regular yoga practice include improved strength, flexibility and balance while also clearing your mind, improving your breathing, lowering stress and calming your nervous system. Katrina Woodworth will be the instructor for the class. "As a busy mother of four children and the wife of a graduate student, I only discovered yoga a year ago but it has changed my life. Regularly practicing yoga at home I have learned to integrate my mind, body and spirit. I have experienced greater strength and flexibility that has helped me maintain overall fitness. By slowing down to listen to my body, paying attention to how I am feeling and mindfully practicing postures, I have learned how to slow down my life, manage my feelings and make better disciplined choices in my life. I completed level I yoga training with a reputable yoga organization called Yogafit. I am also a Yoga assistant for a non-profit, Yoga in Schools. Teaching yoga to children has taught me to have fun in yoga and be flexible -- always be ready with 'plan B'!"
